As mentioned above there different reason for Assigned groups from the deployed Policy. Due to different reasons, admins are forecd to remove assigned groups from the policy. For any reason, you can remove the assigned group using the Assignment tab.

Steps to Remove Assigned Group from Energy Saver Battery Threshold On Battery Policy
From the Intune Portal you can easily remove assigned group. To start removing Open Microsoft Intune admin center. Then go to Devices > Configuration > Policies. Then below screenshot shows beginning steps of Removing assigned group.
After that you can select the Energy Saver Battery Threshold On Battery Policy which you already created. To find the policy name easily, use the search box. Here i search the word Energy in the text box and i got the Policy. I select the Energy Saver Battery Threshold On Battery Policy.
After that, you can see the Energy Saver Battery Threshold On the Battery policys device and user check-in status. Here the status shows as succeeded 1. That means the policy is assigned for 1 groups.
Then, slightly scroll down the device and user check-in status page. Here you can see the Properties section that shows Edit options near each tab. If you want to make changes in any tab, click on the Edit option near the tab
- Click on the Edit option near Assignment.
On the Assignment tab, you can see the assigned groups. Click on the Remove button which is shown near the Assigned group. After clicking on the Remove button click on the Review + Save button.
Review + Save
On the Review + Save tab you can recheck the the policy removed or not. Then click on the Save button to save the changes. Then you will get the success notification. The notifications is like Assignments saved successfully.
Syncing Policy on Company Portal
After getting the success message you have to sync the reoved group (device) on the company portal. The manuall syncing helps to make immediate changes in removed group. Follow the below list and screenshot.
- Open the Company Portal
- Click on the Settings and Click on the Syncing
- After completing the syncing you can see the changes on the device
After completing the syncing, you can check the status on the Intune Portal. Go to the Intune Portal and open the created policy. Here you can see the succeeded is shows as 0.
Then scroll down the user checking-in status page, you can see that Assignment tab is empty. It shows no result. The below screenshot will help you.
